REMOTE AS MODUS VIVENDI: THE LIFE OF STUDENTS IN THE LIGHT OF MONITORS IN THE CONDITION OF A COVID-19 PANDEMIC QUARANTINE

The epidemic situation in Ukraine the autumn of 2020 with regard to COVID-19 pandemic required continuation quarantine restrictions and educational process almost all higher education institutions went online. aim study was analyze psychological aspects students’ learning context emergency distance during pandemic, satisfaction, success adaptation. data were collected November second wave learning. involved 448 students aged 18 23. following questionnaires used for collection: questionnaire attitude (I. Galetska, V. Mushketa), supplemented by behaviour (M. Klimanska, M. Perun), people's lives «Thermometer-COVID» Haletska, Klimanska), academic motivation scale (R.Vallerand, adaptation O. Zakharko), Patient Health Questionnaire (modules PHQ-9 GAD-7), on positive negative affects (OPANA) I. Haletska), short essays about their own experiences situation. 33% like remotely as opposed 14% who are very dissatisfied vast majority students, 65,2%, attend classes 52,1% prepare seminars no less than before announcement Students, general, quality teaching (33,1%) organization (28,2%), they declare, that now have more time (41%). At same time, 34,7% rate level worse. consider too much homework be a key problem, 41,7% respondents feel constant temptation do other things, 43,5% declare complexity self-organization adherence regime, at significant proportion 21,8% , note problems it. As main positives learning, 79% indicate savings travel costs 75,1%. 49,3% say due there is communication friends, 45,8% - independent work. 37,2% indicated them personally availability greater opportunities сheating (copying) online testing positive, 13,7% not it an important advantage themselves. Students noted physical discomfort (27%), great amount tasks (25,7%), things (18%), difficulties adhering regime (11%) greatest weaknesses Three types identified help cluster analysis: 1) “Adapted” (33%), show high satisfaction efficiency new conditions; successfully adapted conditions see benefits saving, increasing freedom movement it, well ; 2) “Disadapted” (31%) dissatisfaction disadaptation which manifested lack ignoring anxiety, depression affect general; 3) “Frustrated” (36%), above average activity preparation combination maladaptation; despite motivation, self-organization, result feeling distress, affecting negatively mental health. results has become catalyst exploration differences adaptability students.
